Long Time No See

It’s been forever since I blogged huh? I just don’t seem to have the time now that Kaili is out of school, or should I say my free time at night is spent watching trashy reality shows? I mean, how good is Bachelor in Paradise? And it just started.

Last I left off Averi had turned two years old. She had her doctor visit and she is perfect, a little small in the weight department but this girl eats so I am not concerned. We’ve been through this with Kaili already, it’s so much easier on the mind the second time around. About four days after that doctor visit Averi came down with a fever that lasted three days followed by a rash. Turns out she had Roseola and I am sure she caught it at the office.

I had been having a hell of time with her at night. She would cry and cry for hours before finally giving in and going to sleep. I was all set to move Kaili out of the room and go big, letting her cry it out without going in there at all, per her Pediatrician’s advice. But after her bout with that nasty virus, she went back to her old self and no more crying at night. Who knows what that was about, hopefully we are good now, because I was about to lose my mind.

We’ve been busy spending time at my parents house in OC. The girls have been swimming, to the petting zoo, playing at the parks and splashgrounds.

Our good friends came out for a visit from Arizona and of course the first stop was breakfast at World Famous on the beach.

Averi doesn’t dig the beach, just like Kaili wasn’t fond of it. Luckily Kristi and I got a chance to head to the beach sans kids and it was magical. We  laid in the sun and played in the water without any worries.

We also had our sitter come and watch the girls while we spent the day in Ramona wine tasting! The girls had fun, we had fun, everyone wins.

Kaili has another month until Kinder starts and soon after that we head to Rio. I will try to be better about writing but I promise I will be blogging the Paralympics and our trip to Brazil!

Out of Towner’s

We spent a couple of days with my parents in Laguna Niguel. The girls were happy to be in a new place, with new things to explore and get into. Kaili got some swimming lessons with grandpa, she didn’t complain about the pool water temperature so maybe it’s time to retry swim lessons.

In San Juan Capistrano there is a cute little petting zoo, with pony err horse rides, a little train and a playground. The girls enjoyed themselves, I however got spit on by an alpaca and smelled like regurgitated food and dirty animal the rest of the time.

They revamped a park near my parents house and turned it into a splash ground. Now that Aves is walking she got to participate. I was surprised by how long they both lasted being wet.

Averi is now my great little eater and Kaili, ugh, finding food she will eat is a struggle. How did I get such a picky eater? I mean the girl won’t eat mac n cheese or pizza,  those were my old standbys. She has been living off of steak, rice and berries this past week, yes that is a good meal but soon I am sure she won’t like any of those foods anymore.

After dinner we kicked the soccer ball around with the girls, one final chance to wear them out. They share a room when we stay at Grandma and Grandpa’s so we need them both good and tired.

We all enjoyed ourselves, next week is back to school.

Masters Arrive In O.C.

Kaili and I drove up to OC as soon as traffic let up Tuesday morning. Doesn’t this look like the perfect weather for a tennis tournament?

We got to the tennis venue a little before David’s first match. The place is really nice, decked out with a lot of comfy seating, food and drinks.

Wags kept us on our toes the first set of his match, finally winning it in a tie-breaker. My pictures of him playing have not turned out well so I will give you a glimpse and then carry on.

He killed it in the second set 6-0 kicking off his winning streak. Kaili gave her uncle a celebratory hug after the match.

The nice thing about this Mission Viejo tennis center is that center court is really open, allowing me to watch the match while Kaili wandered around in circles. She wasn’t going to sit for more than the allowed time it took to eat a fun size bag of skittles. Bribing them with candy will buy you at least 5 minutes. WINNING!

The second day kicked off almost the same way. With warmer weather and  a more stressful first set, our fat heads came in handy. Each day I see the venue getting more and more crowded. This weekend should have a good turnout.

My dad came with me helping me wrangle the kid. He wandered around with her allowing me to actually sit and watch the second set. Thanks dad!

Wags once again killed it 6-0 in the second set reminding us all why he is the best!

We can’t make tomorrows matches but will be up there for the evening doubles match on Friday. I feel another win coming!
